Why Create an Ethical Will?
The ancient tradition of passing on values can be traced back to the Book of Genesis. What values do you want to pass on to your family? What thoughts and feelings do you want to make sure are preserved to remember you by? No matter what your age, it is never too early to create an ethical legacy for your loved ones.
What’s called an Ethical Will is an instrument that preserves your values, beliefs, life lessons and love for family and friends on paper or on video. Many recipients of such a personal gift have reported how truly priceless and meaningful it was for them to receive.
People who have taken the time to go through the process of preparing their Ethical Wills have reported a greater sense of life purpose moving forward as well as feelings of peace and closure should something untimely happen to them.
We will be offering guided Ethical Will writing workshops beginning in January, 2009 based on the Ethical Wills Workshop Leader’s Guide created by Barry K. Baines, M.D., author of Ethical Wills: Putting your values on paper, 2nd Edition.
Abby and I will also be conducting on camera interviews for those who would like to preserve their heartfelt messages on video. We will begin our interviews in January, 2009. Please sign up for a workshop and/or your interview today.
In honor of Abby’s upcoming Bat Mitzvah, all proceeds will be donated to the Shirat Hayam Building Project.
